Corral 37 bases our rules off of the CGA rules, which can be found here. Some rules are modified to suit our club's needs or safety purposes. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH ANY OF THESE RULES WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FROM THE EVENT.
GENERAL
- Proof of ETI membership is required. Those not having proof (Membership card) will be asked to purchase a one day membership($5) or join the corral.
- Dogs must be on a leash AT ALL times. This is the LAW.
- Speed events: One horse/rider combination is allowed for all speed divisions (FC 12&U, FC 13&O, A, AA, AAA). No horse shall exceed six (6) speed runs in one day. Same horse may do a total of six (6) Leadline(10 and under) runs in addition to above, not to exceed walk/trot and may be split between maximum of two (2) horse/rider combinations.
- 10 and under division: A horse, if not running any speed runs, may do twelve (12) 10 and under runs in one (1) day, not to exceed walk/trot and may be split between a maximum of four (4) horse/rider combinations.
RIDER
- Approved equestrian safety helmets must be worn by all participants under 18 years of age.
- All riders under the age of 18 must have written and signed wavier from their parent or legal guardian.
- No one under the age of 18 years may show a stallion.
- Un-sportsmanship like conduct, or abuse of horses, in the ring or on the grounds, will result in disqualification and you will be asked to leave the premises.
- Appropriate attire: All riders must be fully attired in a western style dress shirt with a button or snap closure in the front from top to bottom, long or short sleeves (female riders may wear sleeveless shirts), long pants, belt, and boots. This is for your safety -- NO EXCEPTIONS!
HORSE
- ABSOLUTELY NO RUNNING into the arena. All participants must walk their horses into the arena, stop & acknowledge the judge with a nod or wave. NO EXCEPTIONS! After completing your run, you must have your horse under control before exiting the arena.
- NO RUNNING WHATSOEVER OUTSIDE THE ARENAS. Only walking of horses is permitted outside the arenas. Please use the warm up arena for all practice runs.
- No tying of horses to trees, picnic tables, or the arena rails is permitted. Tie rails are provided at the park, or your horse trailer.
AWARDS
- Decision of the judge is FINAL.
- To qualify for Year End Highpoint the rider must be a current member of ETI Corral 37, and have signed up for YEHP by the May 8th 2010 show. Only one horse & rider combination* will be counted for high point and must be written on your entry before the show starts. Riders must attend five of the eight shows offered and ride in at least four classes**. In the event of death/lameness of horse, rider may substitute a horse with a vet declaration that the horse is unuseable, and must ride the replacement horse the remainder of the season.
* Leadline YEHP points follow only the rider, switching of mounts is allowed.
** Leadline riders must attend at least four of eight shows and ride in at least three classes.- Ribbons will be awarded to 1st through 5th places in the five speed divisions, and Participation ribbons will be awarded to children in the Leadline(10 and under) class. Ribbons may be picked up at the announcers stand or registration center.
